Mr. Jeff Frankowiak is proud to be serving as the principal of the Virtual Campus. He is committed to fostering a school environment that students, staff, and families feel a sense of belonging. As a firm believer that culture drives student achievement, Jeff is committed for the Virtual Campus to constantly grow and evolve in order for all of our students to reach their fullest potential. He often remarks how fortunate that he is to work with the dynamic group of student-centered faculty and staff that are on the Virtual Campus team.
Mr. Bryan Lindstrom has had the privilege to serve in Rochester Community Schools for 15 years and is excited to serve at the Virtual Campus. “It has been an honor to be able to build a school from the ground up! I am very excited to help establish new traditions and to join this amazing team of innovative thinkers.” Prior to coming over to Virtual Campus, Mr. Lindstrom served as the 6-12th Grade Social Studies Curriculum Consultant and taught at Adams High School. While at Adams, Mr. Lindstrom served as the Activates Director, Student Council Advisor, and taught in the Social Studies department. Through his service to the community through Student Council, Mr. Lindstrom was named the 2019-2020 Veterans of Foreign Wars Teacher of the Year for Michigan. Mr. Lindstrom lives in Rochester Hills with his three sons, Brady, Brennan, and Max, all of whom attend Rochester Community Schools, and his wife, Jaime, is an elementary educator in Troy. Dr. Amanda McKay has a passion for working closely with educators, families, and school community to support learning. She is entering her 16th year as a school administrator and has served all levels grades K-12. Amanda earned her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees from Michigan State University. Her dissertation research focused on how teachers learn in communities of practice. Amanda and her family enjoy spending time together reading, camping, and being outdoors.
Elementary Program Consultant
Mr. Robert Phelps is a passionate learner who is dedicated to creating equitable spaces for all children to grow. As the Elementary Program Consultant for Virtual Campus, he supports and develops the capacity and growth of classroom teachers. Modeling and developing professional learning opportunities for students, teachers, and families are important pillars of his leadership at Virtual Campus. Robert thrives on building trusting relationships with every person he works with. He is always on the lookout for that next great coffee shop, where he can get lost in a book, a conversation, or his own thoughts and wonderings.
Instructional Technology Program Consultant
Ms. Julie Rains is an Instructional Technology Designer and Program Consultant at Virtual Campus. In her role, she invites all learners to expand their view of technology, remixing hands-on making opportunities with cutting edge digital tools. Julie finds true joy co-designing alongside teachers and students to create unique and innovative learning adventures. She is committed to continuously improving the field of education and serves as a faculty member at the Project Zero Classroom Summer Institute at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Julie finds inspiration from her travels around the world and appreciates the beauty of small moments. A Maker at heart, she is always looking for the next object to transform into something new.
Virtual Campus Secretary
Mrs. Theresa Fenstermaker is a proud mother of two students in the RCS district and an active participant and leader in the PTA. Theresa received her BS in Chemistry from Cedar Crest College and has worked in Environmental Science Laboratories from all positions from Lab Technician to Project Manager. When she isn’t helping out staff and students she spends her time volunteering and spending time with her family and her stockpile of yarn.
